2021 9 Day Kimberley Cruise

Situated in the far north west of Western Australia, the Kimberley offers a year round tropical climate, breathtaking scenery and an unspoiled coastline. A diverse array of flora and fauna inhabit the land and waters, including the infamous salt water crocodile.

Broome to Broome Kimberley Cruise Itinerary

Day 1:  Broome

9:00am your journey begins as we pick you up from your Broome accommodation and transfer you to MV Odyssey. Welcome aboard!! Following a light brunch, you may choose to sit on the bow and get to know fellow guests. As you cruise northward into the night passing Cape Leveque and across King Sound.

Day 2: Buccaneer Archipelago - Yampi Sound -
Montgomery Reef

As you wake, we are cruising through the Buccaneer Archipelago over to Crocodile Creek. Once there a short climb will take us to the top of the falls for a freshwater swim. Then over to Montgomery Reef and Turtle Gulley, here you will see the reef rise out of the ocean on a falling tide.

Day 3: Deception Bay - Kuri Bay

A new morning and we take a cruise in "Homer" through high cliffs and sandstone gorges to Butterfly Gorge for a freshwater swim. Then it’s off to Brecknock Harbour and Kuri Bay home of Paspaley Pearls. Continue to high Bluff for a beach walk. Enjoy another beautiful Kimberley sunset as we anchor overnight at Hanover Bay.

Day 4: Hanover Bay

After a hearty breakfast, we take a short walk on Hanover Bay Beach and visit one of many Wandjina art site. Journey to Sheep Island and hear the story of the failed settlement and discover the final resting place of Mary Jane Pascoe. Time for a spot of fishing and with a fresh catch it will be enjoyed for dinner.

Day 5: Prince Regent River - Kings Cascade - Cathedral Falls

The incoming tide will carry us deep into the Prince Regent River, prepare to get wet on the bow of Odyssey as we nose into the Kings Cascade. Hike to the top of the falls for a swim in the large freshwater swimming hole. After lunch, we board Homer to view the thundering Cathedral Falls and have a refreshing dunk on the bow of Homer. Fishing in the afternoon and overnight in the Prince Regent River.

Day 6: Sale River

From Glenelg Waters we will cruise across the bay to the beautiful Sale River. Homer will take us upstream for a closer look at the stunning sandstone cliffs as we wind our way through the narrow gorges toward the Sale River Rain Forest. A bit of exploring to be done then a picnic lunch and a swim before heading back to Odyssey.

Day 7: Doubtful Bay - Red Cone Creek

For those who are keen an early morning fishing expedition, before we head to Red Cone Creek. Take a small climb to the top of Ruby Falls and explore this area along with a freshwater swim. This afternoon we will cruise past Steep Island and Raft Point, keep a look out for the majestic Humpback Whales as we watch the sunset over beautiful Doubtful Bay.

Day 8: Horizontal Falls - Buccaneer Archipelago - Silica Beach

We will cruise through the Buccaneer Archipelago to Talbot Bay the location of the Horizontal Falls. An exhilarating fast boat ride will take us through the falls. After lunch, we will head over to Silica Beach and take a walk on the powdery white sands as well as dipping your toes in the water. As we steam south towards Broome, we enjoy our last Kimberley sunset on board Odyssey.

Day 9: Broome

Day 9 has come all too quickly, enjoy breakfast on board Odyssey watching the endless stretch of Cable Beach pass by. We arrive into the Port of Broome mid-morning where your courtesy bus will be waiting to transfer you to your Broome accommodation.
