Homer, our primary tender vessel provides easy access boarding, carries all guests with ease, has comfortable cushioned seating, on-board toilet and washing facilities and most importantly lots of shade cover to protect you from the Kimberley sun. Homer allows us to explore deeper into the creeks and tributaries to find the vast array of hidden wonders often overlooked by other carriers. Argos and Athena enable us to participate in a variety of activities such as fishing and mud crabbing.
Small Ship Cruising
Taking a maximum of 20 guests Odyssey Expeditions specialises in personalised tours, no waiting in turn for an excursion, MV Odyssey gives the opportunity for all travellers to participate together. Rather than just skimming the coastline Odyssey Expeditions will show you the Kimberley wilderness in depth and detail. MV Odyssey can complete an excursion and move on to show you another spectacular Kimberley site in the same time it takes a larger vessel to anchor or tie up.
Sustainability
We provide access without the intrusion of roads. We do not require shore based structures. We explore as a small group and leave no trace of our visit.
We will often collect marine waste on our travels and return them back for proper disposal, aiming to leave the natural wilderness in a better state than before our visit.
On-board waste is either retained for recycling where possible, or retained for disposal at an approved waste management site.
All activities are led by crew members who are trained to encourage minimal impact on the environment, respecting the history and culture of the places we visit.
The Crew
The crew of Odyssey Expeditions have been described by many guests as the A Team, they are passionate about the Kimberley and love their job; they are knowledgeable, energetic and endeavour to give a lifetime experience to each and every guest.

Kahill
Position: Deckhand
Lilly
Position: Deckhand
Growing up in Busselton in the southwest of WA, Lillie and her family spent much of their time exploring the beautiful surrounding region. Her introduction to the Kimberley and the marine industry came soon after leaving school, when she began working at El Questro. It was here she fell in love with the area — its rugged red‑dirt landscapes, sheer beauty, and how different it was from where she grew up. It was also where she first learned about boating within the tourism industry. After leaving El Questro and working in hospitality for a while, Lillie began to crave a new adventure. With the help of a friend, she found herself working on one of the small charter boats out of Busselton — and quickly realised she’d found her calling. Thriving in an industry where every day is different, meeting new people and exploring breathtaking places, she started working towards her marine qualifications, gaining her Coxswain Grade 1, and setting a goal to one day travel the world and live aboard her own boat. In her spare time, when she’s not down at the beach or off exploring what’s around the next bend, Lillie loves getting creative — often scrapbooking her adventures or drawing. Lillie’s fun‑loving nature and contagious energy bring a vibrant spark to life on deck, creating a welcoming and memorable experience for everyone around her.
Mali
Position: Stewardess
Mali is a born-and-raised Melbourne girl whose passion for the outdoors began with family camping trips all over Australia. From a young age, she felt at home in nature, drawn to its simplicity and sense of freedom. That love deepened when she joined an outdoor education centre on the fringes of Victoria’s Alpine region, where she discovered Outdoor Education as a career path. It was there that Mali witnessed the powerful impact nature can have—especially on people from tech-heavy lifestyles or families with limited access to the outdoors. Seeing how transformative these experiences were for others sparked a deep passion in her, solidifying her decision to pursue Outdoor Education professionally. After building connections within the hiking community and taking part in additional expeditions, she began working at the centre, leading multi-day hikes and outdoor adventures. When she’s not hiking through the bush, Mali loves to surf—always keen to jump in the water whenever there’s an opportunity—and she even makes her own jewellery in her downtime. Her easygoing and adventurous nature brings a sense of curiosity and enthusiasm to everything she does. Currently living out of her Troopy and travelling around Australia, Mali is joining us onboard this year and is eager to explore the Kimberley—learning about this extraordinary region from both land and sea.

With a strong background in hospitality, Kiara has worked in and managed cafés and bars, gaining genuine fulfillment from creating welcoming spaces and making people happy. A close friend introduced her to charter boats in the Kimberley, sparking a new adventure and leading her to join our team. Always keen to explore off the beaten track and passionate about capturing moments through the lens of her camera, Kiara brings her quiet, curious nature to the tourism industry and is eager to use her skills and experience to travel the world within the industry.
